Coveted by Martial Artists and knife collectors alike, they are much in demand, but these high-end luxury fixed blades are only produced in exclusive limited edition runs each year. Therefore, we are proud to introduce our new Nightfall Series of Japanese styled blades made from American CPM 3-V high performance powdered steel - with the same design and attention to detail as our much loved San Mai classics but with the addition of this premium American super steel, we're excited to usher in a new era of high performance fixed blades for the discerning knife owner. Each of these tough, reliable blades is DLC (diamond like) coated to a rich inky black finish. Highly scratch and wear resistant, and honed to an edge that you would expect on the keenest of razor blades, they are not only super sharp, but built to last!By the mid-1600s dueling was at the height of its popularity. In fact, this trend for settling affairs of honor with steel reached such heights that King Louis XIII of France outlawed dueling for fear of losing too many of his important dignitaries to this dangerous pursuit! Aristocratic noblemen saw it as their manly duty to defend their honor at sword-point, and as such began not only seeking out the knowledge and training imparted by specialist sword masters, but also exploring other types of weapons to help them gain a decisive edge. One particular sword began to gain popularity - a smaller, lighter and faster version of the Rapier that was easier to carry and quicker in combat. A precursor to what would eventually become the Smallsword referred to by many simply as the transitional rapier. Cold Steels interpretation of this blade (which is named the Cavalier Rapier) features a sharp double edged and needle tipped blade which is decidedly shorter and lighter than a classic Rapier, allowing for much more speed and agility. With a tempered steel pierced shell guard, rings, quillons and knuckle bow it offers astonishingly good hand protection, while its wire wrapped grip and counter balancing pommel give great comfort and liveliness in-hand.Designed by Tony Lennartz - an icon for decades in the field of the outdoors, wilderness survival and bushcrafting, as well as an experienced military leader with a passion for the outdoors. Extended trips to the North American wilderness and his relationship with the inhabitants of these regions provided the opportunity for true wilderness survival techniques and hands-on experience. These expeditions provided Tony with the insight into his knife designs - namely, functionality, rugged use and durability. Boker is proud to begin a relationship with Tony to bring to the market the legendary German Expedition Knife... built to the specifications and quality demanded by its designer. The creative mind of Tony in marriage with the quality reputation of the Boker Manufactory provides the user with the ultimate wilderness field knife. This modern classic is definitely a full size survival knife, which, by its versatility, is capable of mastering any task in the wilderness. From building a shelter, to hunting, skinning and preparing your food, the German Expedition Knife will do it all. For the blade steel of this rugged construction, we chose Bhler N690, which has a fine microstructure and outstanding corrosion resistance. The stonewash finish combines easy maintenance with durability. The handle design of the G.E.K. was further optimized, to give the ideal ergonomics for every grip style. The skeletonized handle grants a low weight, and exchangeable handle scales provide a very secure grip and a excellent handling. The hammer piece in the end of the handle adds versatility. The high quality leather sheath is fully ambidextrous, and is set up for cross-draw, which gives not only allows comfortable carry, but also secure and intuitive handling when drawing or re-sheathing. Th e knife is secured by an ambidextrous push-button strap. The single-hand Marshall Sword sets new standards of quality and authenticity in broadsword construction. The sword is based on an original, now in a British museum, used by one of England's finest knights, Sir William Marshall, who served the crown faithfully under Henry II, Richard the Lionheart and Jack Lackland. The Marshall Sword is forged - folded Swedish powder steel blade. The blade is tempered to a tough HRC 54. The blade section features a central ridged fuller and full-length distal taper - a tough test for the bladesmith but resulting in a superb combination of speed and strength. The grip is leather wrapped and laced and the guard and pommel are elegant in their functional simplicity. The scabbard is leather-covered with steel mounts. Truly a sword for the connoisseur.Since 1968 Hogue has manufactured everything from handgun grips, long gun stocks , AR components, specialty knives to gear and accessories.
